Starting the Provisioning Agent

Use command lines to test the Provisioning Agent configuration, install the Provisioning Agent as a Windows service, and manually start the Provisioning Agent service.

Before you begin

Before starting the Provisioning Agent, test the configurations by launching the Provisioning Agent from the command prompt with the console option as follows:
C:\IBM\bin\enPrvAgt.bat console

About this task

The Provisioning Agent queries Active Directory or ADAM. Verify the connection based on the displayed log messages. If there are errors, the configuration values must be corrected. Press Ctrl+C to stop the Provisioning Agent and check the configuration settings before trying again.

Procedure

  1. To install the Provisioning Agent as a Windows service, launch the Provisioning Agent from the command prompt with the install option as follows:
    C:\IBM\bin\enPrvAgt.bat install
  2. The Provisioning Agent automatically starts whenever the computer starts.

    You can also manually start the Provisioning Agent service with the following command:

    C:\IBM\bin\enPrvAgt.bat start
