IBM Security Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On, Version 8.2

Cannot open the httpd.conf file

When enabling the SSL directive, the httpd.conf file cannot be opened. This issue occurs when the IBM® HTTP Server is down or the nodes are not started.

Symptom: An error message is displayed when you open the httpd.conf file and the text area is empty.

Solution:
  1. If the web server is created on a managed node, check whether the node agent for this node is available or started.
  2. If the web server is created on a unmanaged node, check the credentials.
    1. In the administrator console, click Servers > Server Types > Web servers.
    2. Click the <Web_server_name>. For example: webserver1.
    3. In the Additional Properties section on the Configuration tab, click Remote Web Server Management.
    4. Enter the IBM HTTP Server administration server authentication user ID and password. For example: ihsadmin.
    5. Clear the Use SSL check box.
    6. Click OK.
    7. In the Messages box, click Save.
  3. Start the IBM HTTP Server.
