Errors when starting the Business Monitor server

For platforms that do not support installing IBM® Cognos® Business Intelligence, errors might occur when the Business Monitor server starts.

About this task

Some platforms that support IBM Business Monitor do not support installation of IBM Cognos BI. See IBM Business Monitor and WebSphere Business Monitor detailed system requirements.

If you install IBM Cognos BI on one of these platforms, you might see the following errors when the Business Monitor server starts:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: ibmgpu (libcudart.so.5.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory) 
Exception in thread "Thread-19" java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError: com.caucho.hessian.io.Serializer"

Procedure

To disable the IBM Cognos application, complete the following steps:

  1. In the administrative console, go to Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications.
  2. Stop the IBM Cognos application.
  3. Click the IBM Cognos application. Under Detailed Properties, click Target specific application status and disable autostart for the server.
  4. Save the changes.
  5. Restart the Business Monitor server.
