Configuring log files

Use the WebSphere® Application Server administrative console to configure the log files.

Procedure

  1. From the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, click Troubleshooting > Logs and Trace.
  2. In the Server column, click the name of the application server whose logging files you want to configure.
  3. Click JVM Logs.
  4. In the Configuration tab, either specify the name and path for the system out (SystemOut.log) and system error (SystemErr.log) log files, or accept the default name and location.
  5. Specify the maximum file size for each log file, or accept its default maximum size.
  6. Click OK.
  7. In the Message information box, click Save to apply your changes. The Save page is displayed.
  8. Click Save.
