Scheduling Activities

Activities are events related to a case and scheduled for a specific time period. There are two activity types: the standard activity and the recurring activity. A standard activity is a once-off event related to a case and scheduled for a specific time period. A recurring activity is an activity that recurs over a period of time. An example of a standard activity is a once-off meeting between the primary client of a case and a user. An example of a recurring activity is a supervised weekly visit between a child and the child's parents. When a standard or a recurring activity is created, other users or case participants can be invited to it. Each user invited to the activity can accept or decline the invitation.

Activities differ from the meetings functionality described in Section 5.8.2 above in that activities are used to set up a basic event in a user's calendar to schedule time for interaction with participants on a case. A concerning participant such as a primary client can be specified for standard and recurring activities. Users invited to the activity are informed of the activity via task notification. Any time-conflicts between existing activities scheduled for a user and the planned activity are automatically displayed. The user can resolve or ignore any time-conflicts.
