Introduction: Realizing, architecting, and creating domain-specific solutions using WebSphere Business Models as a source

This watch and learn tutorial describes how to use the built-in service-oriented architecture (SOA) transformations from IBM® Rational® Software Architect Designer for WebSphere® Software to move from a business-process model that defines the contract between roles, processes and services, to a thorough implementation model that fulfills the initial requirements of the business-process model.
This tutorial uses an existing WebSphere Business Model as the source to create a domain-specific implementation. The tutorial uses the built-in SOA transformations to generate realization models and uses the visualization tools to visualize and extend the generated models.

Learning objectives

This tutorial explains how to use the SOA transformations that are built into Rational Software Architect Designer for WebSphere Software. Specifically, the tutorial shows you how to do the following things:
  • Create a transformation configuration
  • Run a transformation
  • Visualize model elements
  • Extend a model using the visualization tools

Time required

This tutorial should take approximately 10 minutes to finish.
