Creating call flow reports

You can use the Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT) to create a report of a call flow design. The NGN modeling toolkit provides an extension to create a default report template.

Before you begin

The report template requires the SIP model to be documented in the Call Flow Design Model Properties view. To learn more about how to document the design report, see “SIP model reports.”

Procedure

  1. Click File > New > Other > SIP Reports > SIP Report, and click Next.
  2. In the SIP Report Design File window, specify a model file and a location for the report.
  3. Click Finish.
Note: The report template supports only models with a model as root. The SIP Report can be truncated at the bottom for long call flows when using PDF or Word as output format. Select HTML report output format to work around this issue.
  4. To generate the call flow report using a created report template:
    1. Click Run > Report > Report Configurations.
    2. In the Report window, right-click BIRT report, and click New.
    3. In the Name field, type a name for the new launch configuration.
    4. Specify the report to use. Select Location, and click Workspace or File System to specify the location and the file name of the generated report template.
Note: The Data Sources field lists the data sources that are specified in the report. The Instance Models field lists the associated instance models. Select the data source or the instance model, and click Add.
    5. Specify a location for the report output.
    6. Select the report format.
    7. Select whether to overwrite existing files in the report location without a warning.
    8. Click Report to generate a new report.
