Developing with the eDiscovery Manager email converter APIs
The IBM® eDiscovery Manager email converter application programming interfaces (APIs) provide a service layer that includes separate content filters for different email formats.
The email converter APIs support the following mix of
standard and IBM proprietary formats:
- CommonStore Native (CSN)
- CSN/MSG, archived by IBM CommonStore
- Compound email formats, archived by IBM Content Collector
- Lotus Domino Extensible Language (DXL)
- Microsoft Outlook (MSG)
- SMTP/MIME
The email converter APIs offer the following
benefits:
- Email can be converted to its native format or to a common object format.
- Extensions to the common email object format allow for unique properties for each email archive type.
- Properties that are returned for Lotus Notes or Microsoft Outlook emails can be dynamically extended.
