Before running simulations, you should set the simulation
properties for the teams assigned to the swimlanes in the process
models that you are analyzing. Doing so ensures that the simulation
results reflect the performance expectations for the teams in your
organization.
Before you begin
To perform
this task, you must be in the IBM® Process
Designer desktop
editor, which is deprecated.
Procedure
Complete the following steps to set simulation properties
for teams:
- Open the desktop Process Designer (deprecated).
- In the process application, open a team involved in the
processes that you want to simulate.
- Under Simulation properties, provide the following information:
| Field or control |
Description |
| Capacity |
In the drop-down list, choose either Use
Estimated Capacity or Use Provider Users.
If you select Use Estimated Capacity, enter
the maximum number of users that this team can include in the associated
field. If you select Use Provider Users, IBM Business
Automation Workflow sets
the capacity so that it is equal to the number of members in the team. |
| Availability |
Specify the percentage of working hours of this
team that are available to complete Business Automation Workflow tasks
resulting from the processes you are analyzing. |
| Efficiency |
Specify the efficiency of this team as a percentage. |
| Cost per Hour |
Provide the cost (in dollars and cents) to your
organization for each hour of work performed by this team. |
- Click the Save icon in the main
toolbar.
