The Rapport icon is not visible in the address bar of your browser

About this task

If the Rapport icon is not visible in the address bar of your browser, verify that the extension is installed and enabled as described in the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Click the Firefox menu icon, which is located at the top right of your browser.
  2. Select Add-ons. The Add-ons manager opens.
  3. Verify that you are on the Extensions tab, or click Extensions to open the Extensions page.
  4. Locate the Rapport extension in the list, and click Enable.

    The Firefox extension is now enabled and the grey Rapport icon is visible in the address bar. The icon turns green when navigating to your banking site to indicate that the site is protected. You can browse to the banking site to verify that it works.

    If the Rapport extension is not in the list, you must install it from the Firefox extension folder of your user account. Complete the following steps:

  5. From the Add-ons manager, click the Gear icon , which is located next to the Search all add-ons bar.
  6. Select Install Add-on from file. A file selection window opens.
  7. Open a Windows Run command, type %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Extensions and click OK. A window with the path specific to your user account is displayed. The path should be similar to the following: 
    C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Extensions

    where <user_name> is your account, or the name of the user profile associated to it.

  8. Click the path bar of the folder to highlight the contents and copy the full path.
  9. Return to the Extensions file selection window, click the path bar, then paste the path you copied in the previous step and press Enter.
  10. From the Extensions folder open the {ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} folder, select the file rapportext@trusteer.com.xpi and then click Open.
  11. A pop-up window opens to add the IBM Security Rapport extension to Firefox. Click Add and then click OK to confirm.

    When the Rapport icon is visible, you have completed the installation successfully. The icon turns green to indicate that the site is protected.
