Aligning Columns

Now, you align the fields, field labels, and static text in columns to help give the form a consistent appearance.

Use this procedure to align the fields, field labels, and static text in columns.

  1. Select the Line No. column heading, its separating line, the Line No. field, and the Description field. Then select Display > Align Controls > Left.
  2. Select the Prod ID column heading, its separating line, and the Prod ID field. Then select Display > Align Controls > Left.
  3. For ANSI X12 and EDIFACT: Select the Code Type column heading, its separating line, and the Code Type field. Then select Display > Align Controls > Left.
  4. Select the Qty Ord column heading, its separating line, and the Qty Ord field. Then select Display > Align Controls > Left.
  5. Select the Unit column heading, its separating line, and the Unit field. Then select Display > Align Controls > Left.
  6. TRADACOMS only: Select the Cons. Units column heading, its separating line, and the Cons. Units field. Then select Display > Align Controls > Left.
  7. Select the Price Each column heading, its separating line, and the Price Each field. Then select Display > Align Controls > Left.
  8. For ANSI X12 and EDIFACT: Select the Requested Ship Date column heading, its separating line, and the Requested Ship Date field. Then select Display > Align Controls > Left.
  9. For ANSI X12 and EDIFACT: Select the Ship No Later column heading, its separating line, and the Ship No Later field. Then select Display > Align Controls > Left.

The frame now should look similar to the following. (This is an ANSI X12 example; some details may be different for EDIFACT and TRADACOMS.)
