Creating Recipient Lists

Use this procedure when you want to create a list of message recipients for a File System Gateway mailbox.

Before you create recipient lists, make sure that the following have been created:

  • all of the mailboxes that you want to include in the recipient list
  • all of the distribution lists that you want to include in the recipient list

Recipient lists are used to tell the Mailbox Server where to deliver messages. Normally, you create a File System Gateway recipient list when you configure File System Gateway collection properties. However, you can add recipient lists to a File System Gateway at a later time.

Use this procedure to create a recipient list.

  1. Start the Mailbox Server Manager.
  2. Double-click the Mailboxes folder icon to open the folder.
The system displays a list of mailboxes.
  3. Right-click a file system mailbox and select Properties.
The system displays the mailbox properties dialog box.
  4. Select the Gateway tab.
The system displays the mailbox properties dialog box.
  5. Click Configure.
The system displays the Collection tab of File System Gateway Properties dialog box.
  6. Verify that the Collect Files into this folder check box is selected.
Note: See Step 12 of Creating File System Mailboxes for instructions for configuring File System Gateway Collection properties.
  7. Click Edit Recipients.
The system displays the Edit Recipients dialog box.
  8. Select the mailbox addresses or distribution lists that you wish to include, and click To, CC, or BCC to move the names into the appropriate lists.
Note: If you make a mistake, select the address or distribution list that is incorrect and press Delete.
  9. Click OK when you have added all the addresses and distribution lists to the appropriate recipient list.
You return to the properties dialog box.
  10. Click OK.
