Installing Publishing Document Builder on a server for your organization

Use the IBM Installation Manager wizard to install the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing (PUB) Document Builder on a server for your organization.

  3. Run the PUB launchpad file by either:
    • Opening the extracted PUB_version_Win_Linux/PUB directory in an explorer window and double-clicking the launchpad file that corresponds to your operating system:
      • Windows icon: launchpad.bat
      • Linux icon: launchpad.sh
    • Opening a command prompt, navigating to the extracted PUB_version_Win_Linux/PUB directory, and entering the command that corresponds to your operating system:

  6. If required, install or update Installation Manager. PUB 7.1 requires Installation Manager version 1.9.1.5 or later.

Installation Manager is downloaded from the service repository, which requires an internet connection. If you do not have an internet connection, you must exit Installation Manager and manually update Installation Manager to version 1.9.1.5. If you used Installation Manager before to install another program, the shared resources directory might already be defined. If the shared resources directory is already defined, the wizard page is skipped. You can continue to the next step.
  9. In the Install Packages page, the Create a new package group option is selected by default. This selection installs Publishing Document Builder into its own installation folder, separate from the desktop client or any Engineering Lifecycle Management application. Example: C:\Program Files\IBM\DocumentBuilder for Windows or .opt/IBM/DocumentBuilder for Linux®. Click Next.
  10. In the Translations page, select the languages to install and click Next.
  11. In the Common Configuration page, to install the included WebSphere Liberty server, select Install with WAS Liberty.
    Click Next.
