Establishing secure channels to remote servers and databases

IBM Data Server Manager (DSM) employs established private/public key mechanisms to protect data traveling between it and the database servers it communicates with.

  • Secure shell (SSH) encryption, for communication between DSM and the operating system of remote servers
  • Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, for the authentication process between DSM and remote servers
