Accessing and using remote cloud storage services with DSM
Users of IBM Db2® databases, versions 11.1 and later, have the ability to backup data to a remote Cloud storage location, and to restore that data to your database.
Normally, configuring connections to these remote locations and performing backup and restore operations would be done from the command line, using storage access aliases, but users of IBM® Data Server Manager (DSM) can now do these operations directly through the console.
In order to take advantage of these services, users will need to have an existing IBM SoftLayer® Object Storage or Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) account, as they will need to enter their credentials to their service when creating their storage access alias, using the DSM Backup feature.
