Installing z/OS Explorer and the z/OS Connect API toolkit

To design and create APIs, you need to use the z/OS Connect API toolkit that is provided as a plug-in for IBM® Explorer for z/OS Aqua.

zosConnect-2.0 Applies to zosConnect-2.0.

In this task, you download and install IBM Explorer for z/OS Aqua 3. You can then install the z/OS Connect API toolkit plug-in to define and deploy an API.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Mainframe downloads page https://ibm.github.io/mainframe-downloads/downloads.html.
  2. Select IBM Explorer for z/OS Aqua from the scrolling panel and select Eclipse tools.
  3. For Step 1: choose your products, choose IBM z/OS Connect EE, and any other products you are installing and click Select.
  4. For Step 2: choose an Aqua version, choose the Aqua version that you are using and click Select.
  5. For Step 3: choose an installation client, choose the installation method that you are using and click Select.
  6. For Step 4: choose your starting point, click Select for your starting point.
  7. Follow the Download and install instructions.
