Kit Library

A library of different kits that can be applied to different hardware architectures and added to operating system-specific repositories.

In IBM® Spectrum Cluster Foundation Community Edition, you can have several kits in a library. These kits or parts of a kit can be deployed on a node.

Each kit is a group of related components. A kit is a mechanism for packaging applications and installation scripts together to make it easier to manage and deploy your cluster. In Figure 1 below, each kit is made up of kit components which represent different parts of the application, such as: client component, server component, or development library component. Within each kit component, a user can define what packages get installed and what scripts to run to configure the component.

Note: In IBM Spectrum Cluster Foundation Community Edition, alternatively, you can add script templates to add applications to a cluster template before creating a cluster. Refer to creating or editing a cluster template using the Cluster Designer.
