Secure Shell (SSH)

SSH is a network protocol for secure data exchange between two networked devices. The client can use public-key and private-key authentication, or password authentication, to access the remote server.

IBM® Spectrum Cluster Foundation Community Edition supports the use of SSH and passwordless SSH, which enables the IBM Spectrum Cluster Foundation Community Edition management server to establish a secure connection to a node with or without a password.

In IBM Spectrum Cluster Foundation Community Edition, using a root account, you can use passwordless SSH to access the compute nodes and monitored nodes. IBM Spectrum Cluster Foundation Community Edition supports passwordless SSH between compute nodes. It does not support passwordless SSH between monitored nodes or to the management node.

To launch a Secure Shell from the Web Portal, log in to the Web Portal as a system administrator. From the Resources tab, go to Infrastructure > Nodes. Select a node, and in the Summary view in the bottom pane, select Console > SSH.
