Adding the sscap/SYSTEM group

You can add administrative rights for a user in Applications Manager. When you add a user, you must add a sscap/SYSTEM group to the System Administrator role.

About this task

Note: You must complete this task before deleting the Everyone group (see Removing the Everyone Group from the System Administrator role).

When you grant Business Intelligence Administrator rights to a user in the Sterling Selling and Fulfillment Foundation Applications Manager, a new group called SYSTEM is displayed in the user's list of groups under the sscap namespace in IBM® Cognos® Analytics. Add this sscap/SYSTEM group to the System Administrator role in Analytics:

Procedure

  1. Start your Web browser and enter the URL of your Analytics applications (the default is http://localhost/ibmcognos).

    The Analytics home page displays.

  2. Click Cognos Connection.
  3. Log in to the Cognos Connection portal as a System Administrator.
  4. Locate sscap in the list of roles, and click sscap.
  5. Locate SYSTEM in the list, and click the Set Properties icon in the Action column.
  6. The Set Properties - SYSTEM screen displays. Select the Permissions tab.
  7. Check the Override the access permissions acquired from the parent entry checkbox.
  8. Click Add. The Select Entries - System screen displays.
  9. Click sscap.
  10. In Available Entries, select the System checkbox and click the arrow to move it to Selected Entries. Click OK. The Set Properties - System screen displays.
