Viewing the quote home page from Salesforce.com

You can use the Quote Home page from the Quotes tab within Salesforce.com or use the native application that is integrated within Salesforce.com to view quote information or to perform various quote related tasks.

If you have integrated Sterling™ Field Sales as an iFrame, a new dashboard is displayed, which overrides the default Quote Home page provided by Sterling Field Sales. The new dashboard points to a new Sterling Field Sales Quote Home page, which has been modified from the standard Quote Home page in Sterling Field Sales. Although the two home pages look similar, the Quote Home page in Salesforce.com has limited functionality as opportunities are managed in Salesforce.com instead of Sterling Field Sales.

However, if you have integrated the native quote management application within Salesforce.com, you can launch this application by creating a new quote or by modifying an existing quote from the Opportunity details page. Alternatively, you can also launch the application from the Approval Dashboard screen within the Quotes tab. The native application displays a quote details page, and although this page differs from the standard Quote Home page in Sterling Field Sales, you can still perform various quote related tasks and view quote information. The quote details page also has some limited functionality as opportunities are managed from Salesforce.com instead of Sterling Field Sales.

The following hyperlinks have been removed from this page:

  • New Opportunity - This functionality is available from the Opportunities tab in Salesforce.com.
  • Find Opportunity - This functionality is available from the Opportunities tab in Salesforce.com.
  • New Quote - To ensure that a quote is created only when an opportunity already exists, a new quote can be created only:
    • From the Opportunity Detail screen in Salesforce.com
    • When in the context of an existing quote in Sterling Field Sales, using the Copy as Alternative Quote task

Additionally, users can no longer search for opportunities in Sterling Field Sales. To search for opportunities, the user must navigate to the Opportunities tab in Salesforce.com.
