Each type of link has different limitations and requirements.
Overview
Because links are directional,
with a source unit and a target unit, you must pay attention to which
unit is the source and which is the target of the link.
Whether
two units can be linked also depends on these factors, depending on
the type of link:
- Existing links to and from the units
- The requirements and capabilities of the units, the link type
of those requirements and capabilities, and the types of the requirements
and capabilities
- The analysis state of the units, that is, whether the units are
conceptual or concrete.
- The compatibility of the source unit type and the target unit
type
- Any constraints in the topology
See the topics on the rules for each type of link for more details
specific to each type of link.
