Backing up the databases

Periodically run an automated backup procedure on the IBM® Intelligent Operations Center databases, including the directory server or user registry. For complete protection, ensure that you back up all the databases.

When you back up Tivoli® Directory Server, you can either back up database information only, or you can back up complete Tivoli Directory Server instance information. For more information about methods for backing up and restoring Tivoli Directory Server instance information, see the administration guide in the Tivoli Directory Server product documentation.

Note: Do the database backups at the same time as the file system backup.

Procedure

Schedule your chosen backup tool to periodically back up the specified databases for each component in IBM Intelligent Operations Center, as indicated in the following table:
