Deploying a VMware Single Server template
Deploy the SingleVirtualMachine template in your environment.
Before you begin
VMware templates need to have vmware-tools installed or else the operating system configuration post the deployment is not possible.
Procedure
To deploy the SingleVirtualMachine template, follow these steps:
- In the left-side navigation bar, click Library > Templates. The template library is displayed.
- Click Starterpacks.
- Click SingleVirtualMachine.
- Read the information about the template and click Deploy Template.
- Enter the required parameters:
- Specify the Instance Name.
- Select the VMware cloud connection.
- Fill in Template Parameters that are mentioned in the following table:
Parameter Default Value Description Hostname The short hostname of the virtual machine Folder The name of the target vSphere folder to host virtual machine. Datacenter The name of the target vSphere Datacenter to host virtual machine. vSphere Cluster The name of the target vSphere cluster to host virtual machine. VCPU Number of virtual CPU for the virtual machine, which is required to be a positive Integer Memory Memory assigned to the virtual machine in megabytes. This value is required to be an increment of 1024 Network Label vSphere port group or network label for virtual machine's vNIC IPv4 Address IPv4 address for vNIC configuration IPv4 Gateway IPv4 gateway for vNIC configuration IPv4 prefix length IPv4 prefix length for vNIC configuration. The value must be a number between 8 and 32 Storage Data store or storage cluster name for target virtual machine's disks VM Template The vSphere Template Name to be cloned Create VM Folder Create a new folder / Do not create a new folder The name of the target vSphere folder to host virtual machine. Allow Selfsign Certificate true/false Boolen value to allow a self signed certificate.
- Click Deploy. The template instance window is displayed.
In the template instance window, you can see the instance status, the instance information, the related resource details, and the related input and output variables. You can view or copy the instance logs and you can also access the template from which the instance was deployed.
