CBLALL

A cable might be the failing item.

If a location and part number is displayed on the control panel of a system or expansion drawer, replace that FRU first.

For more information about failing part numbers, location codes, or removal and replacement procedures, see Part locations and location codes . Select your machine type and model number to see applicable procedures for your system.

Complete the following steps:

  1. Is the reference code 1xxx2613?
    • No: Continue with the next step.
    • Yes: Verify that the power supplies are plugged into the same line voltage (either 110 V AC or 220 V AC, or -48V DC if your system is configured to operate with this voltage). If not, correct it.

This error code can also be posted if the power supplies cannot support the hardware in the system. If the power supplies are plugged into 110 V AC, inform the customer that the power supplies must be plugged into 220 V AC. This ends the procedure.

  2. Is the reference code 1xxx8800 or 1xxx8801?
    • No: Continue with step 4.
    • Yes: Continue with the next step.
  3. Ensure that the following items are correct:
    • The service processor interface cards (Un-P1-C9 and Un-P1-C10) are correctly installed in all system nodes that are present.
    • The UPIC cables are correctly connected to the system. For information about cabling the system, see Cabling the 9080-M9S system. For information about validating cables, see Validating cables in the 9080-M9S system.
    This ends the procedure.
  4. Is the reference code 1xxx26A0, 1xxx26A1, 1xxx26B0, or 1xxx26B1?
    • No: Continue with the next failing item in the failing item list. This ends the procedure.
    • Yes: Continue with the next step.
  5. Use the Hardware Management Console (HMC) to replace the following items one at a time until the problem is resolved. For information about replacing failing items by using the HMC, see Exchange FRU.
    • UPIC cables
Note: This item can be replaced with the system power turned on.
    • Power interface card
      Notes:
      1. For information about which power interface card to replace, see table 1.
      2. This item can be replaced with the system power turned on.
    • Service processor interface card 1 (Un-P1-C9)
    • Service processor interface card 2 (Un-P1-C10)
Table 1. Determining the power interface card to replace by using the reference code
Reference code Failing item name Location code
    110026A0 or 110026B0 Power interface card 1 Un-P1-C1
    110026A1 or 110026B1 Power interface card 2 Un-P1-C2
    Is the problem resolved?
    • No: Continue with the next step.
    • Yes: This ends the procedure.
  6. Use the HMC to remove each of the following items in the system control unit, one at a time. For information about replacing failing items by using the HMC, see Exchange FRU. After you remove an item, check the green power LED on the power interface card. If the LED turns on, the last item that you removed is the failing item and must be replaced. If the LED does not turn on, reinstall the item and remove the next item in the list.
    • Fan 1 (Un-A1)
Note: This item can be replaced with the system power turned on.
    • Fan 2 (Un-A2)
Note: This item can be replaced with the system power turned on.
    • Fan 3 (Un-A3)
Note: This item can be replaced with the system power turned on.
    • Control panel (Un-P1-C5)
Note: This item can be replaced with the system power turned on.
    • Service processor card 1 (Un-P1-C3)
    • Service processor card 2 (Un-P1-C4)
    • System VPD card (Un-P1-C6)
    • System backplane (Un-P1)
    This ends the procedure.
