Elastic Capacity on Demand processor days or memory days

Temporary capacity provided by Elastic Capacity on Demand (CoD) is measured and billed in units called processor days or memory days.

Requested processor or memory days
Requested processor days or memory days equal the number of temporarily activated processor cores or memory units multiplied by the number of days that are specified on a request for temporary capacity using Elastic CoD. After a request for temporary capacity is made on the server, the server records one processor day for each requested processor or one memory day for each requested memory unit at the beginning of each 24-hour period that the request is running. One memory unit is one GB of memory.

[number of processor cores or memory units] * [number of requested days]

Unreturned processor or memory days
Unreturned processor days or memory days equal the number of days (24-hour periods) that the temporarily activated processor cores or memory units were used beyond the expiration of the request for temporary capacity, multiplied by the number of requested processor cores or memory units that are still in use.

[number of days processor cores or memory units were used beyond expiration of temporary capacity request] * [number of requested processor cores or memory units still in use]

Tip: Unreturned processor or memory days are charged at the beginning of each 24-hour period that the temporarily activated processor cores or memory units are still being used after the expiration of the request for temporary capacity.
