Use system calculators to determine the system power load or the distributed floor load for your system.
For Power6 models use the IBM® Systems energy estimator. It is a web-based tool for estimating power requirements for IBM Power6 systems. This tool to estimates typical power requirements (watts) for a specific system configuration under normal operating conditions.
For Power5 models use the Power load calculator to obtain an estimate of the typical heat output (watts and BTU/hr) for a specific configuration under normal operating conditions.
Use the Floor load calculator to determine the distributed load that a server, expansion unit, or migration tower places on a subfloor (for example, in a data center with a raised floor) or on an above ground, non-raised floor structure.
