The following upgrade paths are supported:
- POWER®5 System i® 9406-550 to POWER6™ Power Systems 4–core 8204-E8A
- POWER5 System i 9406-550 to POWER6 Power Systems for IBM® i 4-core 9409-M50 and then
to POWER6 Power Systems 4–core 8204-E8A
You can also upgrade the following
POWER6 Power Systems 8204-E8A systems:
- POWER6 Power Systems 2–core 8204-E8A to POWER6 Power Systems 4–core 8204-E8A
- POWER6 Power Systems 4–core 8204-E8A to POWER6 Power Systems 6–core 8204-E8A
- POWER6 Power Systems 6–core 8204-E8A to POWER6 Power Systems 8–core 8204-E8A
