Setting the IP address in Windows 7

To set the IP address on the Windows 7 operating system, complete the following steps.

Procedure

  1. Click Start > Control Panel.
  2. Select Network and Sharing Center.
  3. Click the network that is displayed in Connections.
  4. Click Properties.
  5. If the security dialog box is displayed, click Continue.
  6. Highlight Internet Protocol Version 4.
  7. Click Properties.
  8. Select Use the following IP address.
  9. In the IP address, and Subnet mask fields, enter the values that are obtained in step 4 from the Accessing the ASMI by using a web browser topic.
  10. Click OK > Close > Close.
