Using a flat-blade screwdriver
To install a cage nut with a flat-blade screwdriver, complete the following steps.

- Determine the hole in which you want to install the cage nut.
- Hold the cage nut in one hand and compress the cage-nut clip with a flat-blade screwdriver.
- With the clip compressed, push the edge of the cage nut fully into the hole from the inside of the rack-mounting flange.
- Release the screwdriver pressure on the clip to lock the cage nut into place.
