Response
The FRU list in the Service Action Log will vary based on the conditions this
event was logged for. Perform the following:
Display the Service Action Log entry for this SRC.
If the Failing Item indicates SVCDOCS, then continue with this step. Otherwise go to the next step. Do NOT
replace the I/O adapter. This is a recoverable error.
LIC will automatically re-IPL the virtual I/O processor associated with the adapter. Other resources
attached to the virtual I/O processor may need to be Varied On.
If the virtual I/O processor or adapter are not operational then use Hardware Service Manager to manually re-IPL the virtual I/O
processor and Vary On attached resources.
If manually reIPL-ing the virtual I/O processor fails then contact your next level of support.
This ends the procedure.
If the
Failing Item indicates an I/O adapter, then replace the I/O
adapter. Check the list below to determine if the adapter type you are replacing has multiple physical parts.
