PCICARD

The hardware that controls PCI adapters and PCI card slots detected an error.

To determine the location of the PCI adapter, complete the following steps:

  1. Is a location code available in the serviceable event view for this failing item?
    • Yes: Go to step 3.
    • No: Continue with the next step.
  2. To determine the location of the failing item, complete the following steps:
    1. Record the dynamic reconfiguration connector (DRC) index, which is word 4 of a B400xxxx reference code and word 7 of a B700xxxx reference code.
    2. The DRC index is of the form xxxxyyyy, where yyyy is the hexadecimal bus number. Using the hexadecimal bus number, go to Card positions to find the location of the failing item. Then, continue with the next step.
  3. Is the system managed by a management console?
    • Yes: Use the management console to replace the failing item at the location that was identified in this procedure.
    • No: Continue with the next step.
  4. Use the following table to determine the service action to perform.
Type and model Part number Service action
5148-21L, 5148-22L, 8247-21L, 8247-22L, 8284-21A, or 8284-22A Remove the adapter to determine the part number or use the CCIN of the adapter and go to PCI adapter information by feature type for the 5148-21L, 5148-22L, 8247-21L, 8247-22L, 8284-21A, or 8284-22A to determine the part number. Replace the PCI adapter at the location that was identified in this procedure. See Removing and replacing PCIe adapters in the 5148-21L, 5148-22L, 8247-21L, 8247-22L, 8284-21A, or 8284-22A system.
8247-42L, 8286-41A, or 8286-42A Remove the adapter to determine the part number or use the CCIN of the adapter and go to PCI adapter information by feature type for the 8247-42L, 8286-41A, or 8286-42A to determine the part number. Replace the PCI adapter at the location that was identified in this procedure. See Removing and replacing PCIe adapters in the 8247-42L, 8286-41A, or 8286-42A system.
8408-44E or 8408-E8E Remove the adapter to determine the part number or use the CCIN of the adapter and go to PCI adapter information by feature type for the 8408-44E or 8408-E8E to determine the part number. Replace the PCI adapter at the location that was identified in this procedure. See Installing, removing, and replacing PCIe adapters for the 8408-44E or 8408-E8E system.
9080-MHE, 9080-MME, 9119-MHE, or 9119-MME Remove the adapter to determine the part number or use the CCIN of the adapter and go to PCI adapter information by feature type for the 9080-MHE, 9080-MME, 9119-MHE, or 9119-MME to determine the part number. Use the management console to replace the failing item at the location that was identified in this procedure.
EMX0 PCIe3 expansion drawer Remove the adapter to determine the part number or use the CCIN of the adapter and go to PCI adapter information by feature type for the EMX0 PCIe Gen3 I/O expansion drawer to determine the part number. Use the management console to replace the failing item at the location that was identified in this procedure.

This ends the procedure.
