Using online diagnostics to collect service request numbers
You can view and record service request number (SRN) values using the online diagnostics if you have AIX® installed and it can be started.
About this task
Note: Ensure you have a printed copy of the appropriate
problem reporting form to document the information you collect here.
To collect SRN values using online diagnostics, perform the following steps:
Procedure
- Log in as root user, or use the CE login.
- At the command line, type
diagand press Enter. - From the Function Selection menu, select Task Selection and press Enter.
- Select Display Previous Diagnostic Results and press Enter.
- From the Display Previous Diagnostic Results display, select Display
Diagnostic Log Summary. The diagnostic log is displayed showing a chronological list of events.
- Look in the T column for the most recent S entry.
- Select this row in the table and press Enter.
- Choose Commit. The details of this log entry are shown.
- Record the SRN value shown near the end of the entry.
- Exit to the command line.
