Internal drive sharing on a 5105-22E, 9008-22L, 9009-22A, 9009-22G, 9223-22H, or 9223-22S system
Learn how to split the internal drives in the system into groups, which you can manage separately.
Before you begin
PCIe3 x8 SAS RAID internal adapter 6 Gb (FC EJIH or FC EL68; CCIN 57D7) is used to split the disk drive backplane in the 5105-22E, 9008-22L, 9009-22A, 9009-22G, 9223-22H, or 9223-22S system. Installing two CCIN 57D7 adapters enables the split mode on the disk drive backplane. The eight short-form factor (SFF) disks can be split into two sets of four SFF disks. The drives can be configured for RAID 0, 10, 5, and 6.
For more information about the SAS Subsystem, see SAS subsystem.
For more information about installing FC EJ1H or FC EL68, see Installing the PCIe3 x8 SAS RAID internal adapter 6 Gb.
The split drive mode can be useful for partitioning. If you set up two distinct logical partitions (LPARs), the resources that are associated with FC EJ1H or EL68 can be assigned to two distinct partitions. To learn about a partitioned environment, see Logical partitioning .
