Using Oracle® 10g Real Application Cluster (RAC) in an IBM® WebSphere® Application Server environment that supports two-phase commit distributed transactions can lead to subtle transaction recovery issues. This article presents a simple strategy to configure RAC in WebSphere Application Server clustered environments that provides failover and load-balancing -- and avoids the transaction recovery problem.
