Sep 28, 2010 ... UNIX provides a number of technologies for interprocess communication, or
cooperative computing between two or more applications. Shared memory is the
fastest and most flexible of the techniques and is surprisingly easy to implement.
Hi, AIX 5.3. From man shmget() The following limits apply to shared memory: *
Maximum shared-memory segment size is: * 256M bytes before AIX 4.3.1 * 2G
bytes for AIX 4.3.1 through AIX 5.1 * 64G bytes for 64-bit applications for AIX 5.1
and later * Minimum shared-memory segment size is 1 byte.
Activation of a DB2 database returns the following error: SQL0987C The

I'm getting a little desperate for an answer on this issue, so I hope someone can
help. My db2 is running on 64 bit Solaris and appears (emphasis on appears) to
be running correctly. My developers are trying to connect using the Command
Editor running on Windows XP but everytime they (or I) connect ...
We have a large number of shared libraries. Which tool or tools can I use to
determine if the shared memory is fragmented? We are running a 32 bit app, and
we have just over 200MB of shared libraries that we are trying to load into
memory. Log in to reply. Updated on Nov 10, 2009 at 2:04 PM by nagger.
Dec 6, 2012 ... Common question: I see XX% of Used Memory but I don't know who is using it
and how? A simple question but there is no simple answer as memory use if
complex. nmon then hit "m" will quickly show you a few big uses of memory as
below: The shared memory used by lots of applications like DB2 and ...
Hello everyone, I'm running AIX 5.3 and I need a user to be able to pin shared
memory. According to the various documentation I've found, I need to enable the
CAP_BYPASS_RAC_VMM capability for this user. Again, according to the
documentation, I'm supposed to use the "chuser" command to do this.
Under which circumstances would a shared memory segment created with the
IPC_PRIVATE key (-1) receive a key value of 0 instead of -1. Since this problem
is not occurring on my own system I don't know whether this already happens
after the shmget call or sometime later in the life cycle of the segment.
