Ok, I finally created a profile on developerWorks and also decided to extend my blogging to developerWorks. That's right, I'm already blogging elsewhere, sharing information and opinions in the Native XML Database blog at http://nativexmldatabase.com/. My plan is to combine the two blogs to reach an even wider audience.
I'm blogging on everything that's related to XML and databases. This includes tips and tricks for XPath, XQuery, SQL/XML, XML Schemas, and other XML standards and how they are used in a database environment. It also includes information specific to DB2 pureXML on all platforms (z/OS as well as Linux, UNIX, and Windows) as well as pointers to articles or other resources that you may find useful. Other topic areas include the integration of XML and relational data, new trends in industry and research, performance and benchmarks, and whatever else catches my interest.
To get things kick-started here, I'll begin with a "Best of 2010" from my nativexmldatabase.com blog. I will post the top 5 topics from 2010 that had the largest number of views last year, so these posts seem to be of interest to a broad range of readers.
In general, my blog posts represent my personal opinion and do not necessarily represent IBM’s positions, strategies, or opinions. If you have any questions or opinions on what I'm posting, please add your comments to this blog or contact my directly via email (mnicola at us dot ibm dot com)!
