As described in WebSphere Process Server 6.1 Announced, WebSphere Process Server v6.1 became available for electronic distribution yesterday. (Makes a great Christmas gift?!) The new features are described in Features and benefits. Corresponding releases for WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus and WebSphere Integration Developer--as well as the rest of the WebSphere Business Process Management products--are also available.
To get past the marketing and find what you need to download, go to the v6.1 section of Recommended Fixes for WebSphere Process Server. (This page is also good for keeping track of the latest patches for WPS 6.0.x.) Passport Advantage downloads for WebSphere Process Server 6.1.0 explains how to download and install the product. Check out the WPS 6.1 Release Notes. For downloads for WESB and WID, check out the v6.1 sections of Recommended fixes for WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus and Recommended fixes for WebSphere Integration Developer.
Unfortunately, no sooner does a release come out than so too do fixes for the release, but at least the known problems are getting fixed. After installing WPS 6.1 or WESB 6.1, you should then install these fixes:
- Mandatory WebSphere Application Server critical fix for WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, version 6.1
- Mandatory critical fixes for WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, version 6.1
- Interim fixes for WebSphere Process Server V6.1
And finally, no IBM product would be complete without an InfoCenter, so check out the IBM WebSphere Business Process Management Version 6.1 information center, which has docs for all of the products.
