Different ways of Installation of Adapters using Installation Manager

Managing installations with Installation Manager for WebSphere Adapters with WAS on various Platform
Install Installation Manager which is required to perform the installation of WebSphere Adapters. Installation Manager (IM) can be installed in different modes. The different steps to install IM based on user permission is shown below.
Managing Adapter Installation with IM :
WebSphere Adapters can be installed via Installers to be used with WebSphere Application Server. Download the required WebSphere Adapter installers for WAS from the Passport Advantage site.
There are four modes of Installation of adapters possible,
1. Wizard Mode of Installation of WebSphere Adapters
In the command prompt , go to location of IM installed location , there type the command for invoking IM.
To add, edit or remove a repository location:
This is similar for all user modes (ROOT /NON ROOT/GROUP).
2. Console Mode of Installation of WebSphere Adapters.
With this mode use the command in
the IM installed loca
Type the command,
Then follow the steps shown in the console
First provide the repository by using ADD REPOSITORY then continue install, update , uninstall, Rollback ,modify etc..
3.Silent Mode Of Installation of WebSphere Adapters :
For this type of installation ,we should have a response file created or provided with IM installables.
For Creating a response file,open Wizard mode in record format providing the location where the response file should be saved and do the operation to be performed in IM so that it will be recorded.The Commands,
./IBMIM -record /home/response.xml
(LINUX or AIX)
IBMIM.exe -record C:/response.xml (Windows)
Once the response file is recorded ,then go to the IM installed location ,use the commands ,
./IBMIM --launcher.ini silent-install.ini -input /home/response.xml -acceptLicense
(LINUX AND AIX)
silent-install.ini -input C:/response.xml -acc
Command Line mode of installation for WebSphere Adapters :
In Command Line mode , Go to the IM installed location / tools
./imcl install com.
2. To uninstall,
./imcl uninstall com.
3. To Update , say 188.8.131.52 Adapter to 184.108.40.206 Adapter Version,
./imcl updateAll com.
4.To Rollback ,Say from 220.127.116.11 Adapter to 18.104.22.168 Adapter Version,
./imcl rollback com.
5.To Modify , Say Add two adapters , or remove adapters ,
./imcl modify com.
