anniversary page, including a number of highlighted articles throughout our history. (There's even a very moving retrospective by yours truly.)
I remember when I first discovered developerWorks. I was working at the Texas Lottery Commission, overseeing the Y2K swapout and helping to support the agency's Novell network. I was still driving my beloved Ford Ranger, which eventually died in my driveway when I needed to catch a plane. My daughter was not yet born. I was still quite happy with my dial-up Internet. I stumbled across developerWorks while I was trying to learn things about Java. Later, when I joined IBM, developerWorks was still a resource. It became a best, first look at any tool or technology that I needed to know. It was also a great resource to share with partners to get them started with something.
Now, I've been having a great time as part of the dWorks editorial staff. I meet some of the smartest people in technology and get to be in the middle of the present and future of web development. I'm also enjoying the evolution of My developerWorks, adding community elements to the technical data. If you're not connected to me as a colleague please add me now. If you're interested in writing for developerWorks, or have something in particular that you'd like to see covered in Web Development then use this as a way to reach me. I really am interested in innovating through these tools. You can be a part of the future.
