Greetings from DUMBO.
I'm staying with some really good friends at a really nice placed called "Chez Frisket," recuperating from some meetings and executive presentations in the Big Blue universe.
All is well in the world, save for this really cold weather and Twitter, at least from what I'm hearing/not hearing from friends across the digital realm.
This doesn't bode well for SXSW.
If you remember from this blog last year around this time, it was pretty clear that's where Twitter tipped.
Not a good sign they're having availability issues a whole year later, especially the week before South By.
My recommendation: Upgrade Twitter's servers to a new System z mainframe!
Meanwhile, I'm announcing to the world and everybody that one of my new beats is around the social media marketing space.
That's a topic I was up in the New York area presenting on, and while it's an area I've obviously been participating in and following for some time now, we're starting to see the fermentation of more concrete efforts.
If you're an analyst or vendor in this space, drop a line (via email please), as I am interested in your white papers, PowerPoints, Webcasts and other IP that can help shape this emerging conversation.
If you're a competitor or frenemy, also feel free to contact me, let's compare notes. Things are changing rapidly, and it's great to know more about what others are doing.
Speaking of learning, if you're going to be at SXSW, find me in the hallways and let's tawk.
Also, I'll be speaking with some colleagues in a session in Orlando at the DMA's B2B Marketing conference next week.
If you happen to be around, I'll be on the ground Tuesday and part of Wednesday.
M-I-C...see ya real soon...K-E-Y...why, because we like you.
