Yahoo!'s senior VP and GM and dictator of Yahoo's recent Panamian project Steve Mitgang spoke here at the SEMDirector conference this AM, explaining that Yahoo! Answers had definitely answered the question as to whether or not it ruled the online Q&A roost (Google conceded defeat and left the online Q&A party a few weeks ago).
As it turns out, Democratic presidential candidate Hilary Clinton is listening.
According to Bokardo.com, the former First Lady posed a question on Yahoo Answers earlier this week regarding the state of healthcare in the U.S. (as in, how do we fix it??)
The American people vociferously Yahooed in response, with over 35,000 answers turning in just two days.
Might social networking become the new new thing in political campaigning? Could somebody get Kevin Bacon on the phone???!
Oh, that's right, he's busy with his own new social networking site, this one for charity.
SixDegrees.org has raised over $67K thus far, although I'm still trying to figure out my own last degree's connection to Kevin.
Bacon's new site allows users to link to celebrity "badges" or make their own, with Mr. Footloose graciously matching the top six non-celebrity fundraisers with grants of up to $10K each.
And speaking of celebrity badges, Nick Faldo was at the breakfast buffet here at the Hilton this morning.
Faldo has a really cool Web site whose last "diary" entry was last August (as in 8 Internet dog years ago). Methinks Faldo might ought to take a mulligan on the whole blogging thing.
Meanwhile, I'm getting ready to join my fellow SEMDirector friends for our Tiger hunt.
If the Santa Ana winds blow just right, I'm thinking my new bud Jeremy's got a shot at taking him in the long drive competition.
