The folks from IBM Rational focused on the telecom market are launching this new blog and we invite you to join us. We are covering the ecosystem, from Communications Service Providers (CSPs) to Network Equipment Providers (NEPs) and even the mobile device manufacturers. The originators of this blog plan the product solution as well as the go to market activities for the Telecom market. Our intent is not to bore you with product pitches but to give our own views on the market and some insights to why we think the way we do.
I have been involved with the telco market in one form or another since the mid 90s after getting my Electrical Engineering degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I started off as an embedded software engineer working on wireless local loop solutions, then moving to handset development, while earning a Masters in Computer Science working at Motorola. However what I became an expert at was applying model driven development and agile methods to embedded systems, not only on the telco side but also spent a lot of time in aerospace as well as automotive. In case you are interested I was shocked to just see a paper I wrote several years ago still on the OMG website: http
Today I drive the go to market activities for IBM Rational for CSPs and NEPs. Building a 360 degree view from engineering to sales and marketing has given me a unique perspective on the telco market. I’ve done a few posts on the Invisible Thread Blog (enterprise agility), but now we are moving our blogging efforts to this new focused industry blog.
We want to leave it open to go beyond a Rational viewpoint, but for now we’ll start small. Feel free to reach out with any ideas or topics you'd like to see us cover.
