India and China lead social business adoption

If you are wondering which countries will experience the biggest social business growth in the next 24 months, look no further than the two Asian powerhouses: India and China. India (79%) and China (74%) lead in a big way in social business adoption. That is the case for both internal (employee facing) and external (customer facing) deployments. It is clear that these countries have found the collaboration and customer benefits of social business systems.
We dug deeper, however, and found one major adoption difference between these countries: China has a much lower tendency to use "third-party" mass social platforms than India (12% and 28%, respectively). Perhaps it's no surprise. Social business is arguably the most "people focused" technology area we surveyed. Cultural factors affect how people communicate. When a social business system is hosted on a third party platform, it's much more difficult to control contents and access.
