Electronic Support for Platform Computing2012 was a very active year for the IBM Platform Computing brand. Formal transfer of business occurred on July 1, 2012 and most of the existing support tools from the my.platform.com site were transitioned to the IBM tools by October. Clients already familiar with IBM’s electronic support tool, such as Support Portal, Service Request and Fix Central, were quick to make the move, but others needed more help in the transition. We created a video that highlights some of the major electronic support tools to help clients make that move. It’s available on YouTube on the Electronic Support Channel and also at IBM TV for clients who cannot visit YouTube due to company policy. Watch the video here Many new Platform Computing products have been released in the last eight months and the electronic support tools have been continuously updated to keep up with new versions and function. The Platform Computing team has migrated all of their documentation, troubleshooting and admin guides to IBM repositories so they are available for clients in tools like Support Portal. We are also closely monitoring feedback and comments on the tools, to ensure our clients have the best possible support experience. Please continue to let us know if you have trouble with a site or document and we will be diligent in making it right! Fixes are now also available for all the new products in Fix Central. Clients must be entitled to the Platform Computing product in order to download its fixes, so be sure to sign up for a WEB ID and associate your customer number before attempting to download fixes. Check out this page for more information. Here are a few hints on getting fixes using Support Portal . First, there is a new ‘Support shortcuts’ port-let available on the Support home page that will take you directly to the fixes. ![]() Be sure to click directly on the link. You’ll be asked what version and platform you’re looking for and then when you select ‘Continue’, it will take you to Fix Central. ![]() If you’d like to open the Fix Central page in a new tab, right click on the ‘Fixes (downloads)’ link and select ‘Open in new tab’. A new tab will be opened with the same page of Support Portal. Then you can proceed as described above to get to Fix Central. There are many exciting new tools and enhancements in the works and I will continue to keep folks informed on this blog and through our new Twitter account @IBMPlateSupp Thanks for listening!
