Raju: “What are these Androids all about? ”
Farhan: “ Idiot!! That’s a mobile phone with silky touch screens!”
Raju: “ I must ask my father to get me one!”
Farhan: “Why? Tere paas ek Chinese-wala touchscreen set hain naa? Phir se uncle ko podesaan maat kor yaar!”
Raju: “But my one has no maps and Call recorder, no personal manager, live wall papers, no push mail yaar!”
Rancho (smiles and gives a pat on his two pals’ back): “Android is an OS Boss! Whose heart is Linux Kernel and Nervous systems all made of Java”
Raju: “Yee OS hum abhitak depth mein somojh ne ki koshish nehi kiye re!”
Rancho: “C’mon… all you want are those apps , right? So, first let us develop those apps ourselves and sell it either to Virus The Prof and his… pyaari daughter…”
My friendly students! You, too, must be wondering how you develop the apps for Android phones that you download from Google’s Market, now known as Android-Play. Believe me, these apps are very easy to develop, and in fact, they can be developed using Java and any common language like, C#. But, Android Apps are best developed using Java and the Tool that compiles the source code, generates some DEX code, very much like BYTE codes you are familiar to; and the DEX code is supposed to be run on a Virtual Machine, like but not, JVM, known as Dalvick Virtual Machine (DVM).
Theories apart, since they always used to make me yawn, when I had been a student like you all are, let us now dive for something really very exciting.
