WebSphere sMash is a development and execution platform for quickly building agile web-based applications. It supports some of today's hottest dynamic scripting languages - PHP and Groovy. This makes it convenient for developers, proficient in these scripting languages, to rapidly build sMash based web applications.
Considering the emergence of powerful, Java platform based, languages like Clojure, and Scala, it makes sense to support them on WebSphere sMash. This will open up an opportunity for developers proficient in these languages to harness the power of the sMash platform, and to quickly put together situational applications.
We had a couple of interns from UVCE - Keerthan K S, and Abhilash Venkata.
Adarsh Ramamurthy, Raghavendra Nilekani, Pradeep S Bhat led this project through its various phases.
The intent is to contribute this support back into WebSphere sMash, and also publish some articles or blog entries detailing this project.
