And from the bottomless abyss of web 2.0 a new blog rises to the Mount Olympus of social networking. Built of groundbreaking and highly reliable information, priceless hints & tricks and storage networks related thoughts capable to change whole industries. Witness the dawn of a better time - a glory time. Take a bow bef...... hmm... wait. I should lower my and your expectations most certainly.
Well... a blog about storage networking. "Yet another one..." you may think. And probably you are right. This blog is not made for the sales guys looking for competition stuff. It's not made for all the marketing guys trying to spread some FUD. It's just a little bit of a "home base" with some thoughts from a tech support member's point of view.
So why did I create this blog? My job role is a EMEA PFE for SAN - a Product Field Engineer working as a level 2 support on SAN related problem cases from Europe, Middle East and Africa. If the problem can't be solved by the local support teams, the case is escalated to my team. That sounds clear and understandable to me but try to explain such a job to any relatives at the next family lunch :o) In my job there is a lot of knowledge sharing and discussion between the support teams inside my company. But that's it. While doctors, teachers, gravediggers, scientists, cooks and to some degree even IT marketing people maintain constructive discussions with their counterparts from other companies and institutions, obviously this does not happen for tech support in my area of interest.
I want to relax this situation a little bit. There is a very narrow path on the edge of confidential information and corporate interests, but I'm willing to walk it. Let's see how this turns out.
Welcome to seb's sanblog!
