It’s a hybrid world and organizations effectively use the combination of both the technologies to reap greater benefits. Integration also maximizes the value of cloud investments as there already are a lot of Public cloud applications available.
The biggest concern about Cloud is the integration of SAAS (Software-as-a-Service) with existing enterprise applications. IBM® WebSphere® Cast Iron® encounters this challenge by integrating cloud applications with on-premise applications, cloud-to-cloud applications, and on-premise to on-premise applications within matter of days. Such integration is significantly important for organizations moving to SAAS hosted solution, Gartner research says.
IBM® WebSphere® Cast Iron® allows organizations to connect with cloud and on-premise applications by providing rapid connectivity to all major cloud applications through a graphical development environment consisting reusable solution templates that can be downloaded from a solution repository. The integration solutions can run on on-premise appliance or multi-tenant WebSphere Cast Iron Cloud service. Plus you do not have to worry about, how integration will work with multiple session management, logging etc as WebSphere Cast Iron Cloud handles all itself very effectively.
The Impact 2012 session in Las Vegas featured a case study of Siemens who was facing a challenge of integrating SAP software for ERP with Salesforce.com, the cloud based CRM service. The ERP data regarding shipment and order details was not updated on timely basis creating information gap.
