The IBM Product and Service Framework (PSF) has been refreshed and was announced at the IBM Innovate 2012 event during the Incose session Monday evening. The Product and Services Framework defines use cases and solutions specific to discrete manufacturing industries. The key themes for the refresh are the addition of new projects to the framework that include new software capabilities based on partner solutions as well as addition to the IBM portfolio , improving existing framework projects with enhanced capabilities designed to drive greater alignment with IBM's industry blueprints.

International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE)
The relationship between the International Council of Systems Engineering, INCOSE and IBM Rational is strong and growing. IBM Rational has been a platinum sponsor at the INCOSE International Symposium for the past three years and we have 63 IBMers from 11 countries who are members.

Another key way we’ve been building our systems community is through the IBM Systems and Software Engineering Symposiums. We are offering over 15 IBM Rational Systems and Software Engineering Symposiums around the world this year at no cost to our customers. These are face to face customer events where our clients learn how IBM Rational is helping to lead the innovation agenda in product and systems development. Industry experts are on-site to discuss applying system engineering best practices with measurable benefits leveraging customer examples and proof points.
This event focuses on the IBM Rational solution for systems and software engineering – with sessions around the core processes of requirements management, architecture and design, collaboration, change and configuration management, reporting and test and quality management. Five (5) new use cases were added to the framework and 7of the existing use cases were updated.
The five new use cases are:

2. Procurement Optimization - this use case leverages Emptoris product suite to optimize procurement processes
3. Operational Risk Management - added OpenPages and Tivoli HSE Manager capabilities to integrate, automate,manage and monitor risk

IBM announced the Product and Service Framework (PSF ) in 2010 expanding the scope of the predecessor Product Development Information Framework (PDIF). The PSF framework joined a collection of industry frameworks that today number 14 and cover a total of 17 industries. The frameworks are a logical collection of industry solutions that combine technologies and services from our partners with IBM capabilities to provide solutions which address the challenges within a specific industry.
Updates to the PSF framework will be announced at the Innovate Conference, June 3-7
