Building and Strengthening our Systems Community to Drive Success
As part of our Systems strategy , we’ve put a large focus on building and strengthening our systems community. When we say community we’re talking about the industry leaders and associations like INCOSE, IIE and IEEE, our business partners, the analysts in our space and our clients – essentially the people who influence and impact those companies in our key industries. And we put the focus on this community because that is what it takes to be successful – it takes a community – leveraging those who have influence, knowledge, power, insight and skills to help IBM and our clients succeed. The community we help create will drive business, become the voices that help evangelize our messages and allow us to dive into new markets. Below are some of the ways you can leverage our growing community
International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE)
The relationship between the International Council of Systems Engineering, INCOSE and IBM Rational is strong and growing. IBM Rational has been a platinum sponsor at the INCOSE International Symposium for the past three years and we have 63 IBMers from 11 countries who are members.
INCOSE is the top systems engineering organization worldwide, in which many of our clients are active members. Teaming with INCOSE has helped improve our relationship with clients, showing IBM’s focus and dedication in the systems space. And expanding the systems engineering ecosystem globally is not just good for our business, it is what INCOSE is all about. Their mission is: Share, promote and advance the best of systems engineering from across the globe for the benefit of humanity and the planet. What an excellent opportunity for IBM to partner globally to bring our products, solutions and services to systems and software engineers around the world.
Having the same goals and working together is already proved beneficial for both IBM and INCOSE. The president of INCOSE, John Thomas was our guest and took part and several activities at Innovate this year, including a live stream interview on site. And at the INCOSE International Symposium this year in Rome, Meg Selfe took part in several activities including presenting our IBM Point of View on the de-risking program management/systems engineering panel.
IBM Systems and Software Engineering Symposiums
Another key way we’ve been building our systems community is through the IBM Systems and Software Engineering Symposiums. We are offering over 15 IBM Rational Systems and Software Engineering Symposiums around the world this year at no cost to our customers. These are face to face customer events where our clients learn how IBM Rational is helping to lead the innovation agenda in product and systems development. Industry experts are on-site to discuss applying system engineering best practices with measurable benefits leveraging customer examples and proof points.
This event focuses on the IBM Rational solution for systems and software engineering – with sessions around the core processes of requirements management, architecture and design, collaboration, change and configuration management, reporting and test and quality management. Those who attend will learn how IBM Rational solutions and best practices will improve the way you analyze, develop, maintain and manage your current and future products and programs.
We’ve also partnered with INCOSE globally. John Thomas will be a presenter at our Atlanta Symposium on September 12th and Detroit on November 8th.
These events are great opportunities for our clients to network and learn more about our products. Upcoming events: Atlanta, September 12th, Montreal September 19th and DC September 24th. More information and registration site. Please forward the invites you receive on these events to your clients. These events can by tailored to target the specific needs of your clients
Virtual Rational User Community for Systems Engineering
A recent upgrade to the Global Rational User Community was the addition of several Virtual Rational User Communities, including one for systems engineering…
The purpose of the Virtual Rational User Group for Systems Engineering (VRUC SE) is to facilitate information sharing and group discussions around the topics of systems engineering and how IBM Rational methods and tools can be applied in these endeavors. The VRUC SE offers meetings and presentations virtually available to all our clients no matter where they are located. All you need to do is go to the following and join. Check out our upcoming presentations and events.
This community is another great way to help your clients stay educated on our products and solutions. These meeting also will give your clients a change to ask our experts questions live. All you need to do is inform your clients of this user group and send them the link
